What Is the Photo & Signature Resize Tool?
This tool resizes your photo and your signature to the exact pixel dimensions, physical size, and file size that a specific exam authority requires, in one place. Instead of hunting through a PDF notification looking for the right numbers and then figuring out how to hit them, you pick your exam from the dropdown above and the correct specification loads automatically for both your photo and your signature.
It currently covers SSC, RRB, UPSC, GATE, NEET, and PAN card applications, since these are the forms students run into most often and get rejected on most often too, usually over a file that's technically fine to look at but wrong by a few kilobytes or a few pixels.
How to Use This Tool
Pick your exam from the Select Exam dropdown at the top. The required dimensions and file size range for both your photo and your signature appear right above each upload box, so you can double check them against your own application form before you even upload anything. Upload your photo into the Photo box and your signature into the Signature box separately, since they have different requirements and are processed independently. Click Resize for each one once it's uploaded, and download both results when they're ready. That's the entire process for both files.
How It Works
Once you upload an image, the tool resizes it to the exact pixel dimensions your selected exam specifies, then adjusts the JPEG quality until the file size lands squarely in the middle of the accepted KB range. Locking both the dimensions and the size at the same time is the part most generic compressors miss, since getting the file size right while leaving the dimensions wrong (or vice versa) still gets your upload rejected.
Why Students Need This Tool
Government exam forms in India are notoriously strict about photo and signature uploads, and the specifications differ from exam to exam in small but form-breaking ways. A photo sized correctly for RRB might still get rejected on an SSC form because the signature dimensions don't match, or because SSC expects a slightly different KB range. Common Mistakes That Get Photo and Signature Uploads Rejected
The most frequent issue by far is a background that isn't plain white, whether that's a colored wall, a patterned curtain, or just uneven shadows from bad lighting. A close second is uploading a signature scanned or photographed at a slight angle, which distorts once it's forced into the exact rectangle an exam requires. Old photos are another common trap: several exam authorities expect a genuinely recent photograph, and submitting an outdated one can cause problems later during document verification, even if the file itself passes the initial upload check without any error.
Take your source photos in good, even light against a plain white background if at all possible, and sign your signature clearly in black or dark blue ink on plain white paper before photographing it. Getting the source material right makes every step after that, including resizing it with this tool, far more likely to produce a result that sails through both the automated upload and the manual review that follows.
